Not all craps games are the same. Those that love the game and who play regularly have different opinions on what’s the best way to play craps and where the best craps tables are. All types of players play craps. You have the professionals who are very good rollers and who maximize the table odds to their advantage and then you have the rest of us who will play in a specific way even if the odds are against us.
We met up with some of the experts in the game and spoke to the best ways to winning at craps… the craps tips that can make a difference.
Alvin Fung, who is a regular craps player who has won quite a lot said to me “It’s easy to spot a beginner, or someone who likes to lose consistently… Either they act intimated and fail to ask the right questions, or they act bold and make all the wrong bets. Either way they’re losers.”
Craps basic strategy isn’t hectic to learn. The main idea is to stick to the pass and come lines bets and then adding some odds bets when the occasion calls for it. The experts agree with this and they also agree that other bets like the field, proposition bets, the Big Red 7, the corner 6 or 8, hard ways or place bets on the 5, 9, 4 and 10 won’t make you money in the long run.
Jimmy Silvers, also an expert craps player had this to say “The game of craps has a very low house edge, if you stay away from the sucker bets… Good dealers will often let you know when you’re betting against yourself, or if you’re about to fall off the deep end, but don’t count on it. Some houses restrict how much help the dealers can offer.”
