Online Casino Regulation

The CNBC financial news edition “Closing Bell” focused on the possibilities of online casinos being regulated in the USA. Two officials of the analytical firms were hosted by Melissa Francis, who conducted a debate on the future of the US gaming industries, specifically in regard to online gambling.

David Katz of Oppenheimer and Andrew Parmentier of Height Analytics presented their views that legally regulated and licensed online gambling in the US is not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’. The two did not come up with the discussion about the philosophical necessities of allowing individual freedom, but looked at the more practical needs of the live casino businesses and how the US desperately needed the income that could be generated.

Katz said the swap to online casino prominence even by established land casino club operators is only natural, considering the boundaries of land gaming venues.

Katz also stated on the program, that there is a restricted opportunity for the land based casinos to develop in the United States and at some point they have to start thinking internationally.
Parmentier added that the Congress and other states were in desperate need for revenue, and $50 billion can make up for a lot of social programs that Democrats are aiming for these days.
The news show coincided with the Global Gaming Expo currently ongoing in Las Vegas.
